The Next LAN

With little else to do today, I remembered that the next LAN party is only 2 weeks away. If you’re in the greater Charleston area and you haven’t checked it out yet, you should. It’s only $10. (pre-pay, $20 at the door) As with most LAN parties, this event is BYOC. They even have drinks and snacks to keep you going for 10+ hours. (and Bawls, for a $1.50 if you need that extra boost..)

Jan. DTDM
Joe posted his pics from the last DTDM event on the forum site. I archived a few of them here in a more compressed form for those without broadband. The last event was a lot of fun, as I’ve mentioned here before. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks to Joe and the guys at DTDM for putting this event together!

UT 2004
The guys at EPIC/DE/ATARI have released the beta demo of the next chapter in the Unreal Tournament series, UT2004. The demos for PC, Mac and Linux are all available, so if you haven’t downloaded it yet, you can get it here. If you don’t have high-speed internet access, get a friend to burn you a copy.. it’s that good.

Valentines Day

Nan and I enjoyed a nice relaxing day at home today. We had breakfast, and bummed around in our PJs until 3:00 in the afternoon. 🙂 Sometimes it’s just nice to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Our evening was capped off with a valentines day dinner date at La Fontana. (a local Italian place we like..) I’d definitely reccomend it.

Mr. B.
Our cat Baghira, or Mr. B. as we call him is a nutcase. Having spent an unusually long time in the house today, I was able to see more of his crazy antics than usual. I could hardly contain my laughter as he ferociously attacked a brick of foam.

Mr.B Die foam brick, DIE!!! Hey! You can't get away that easily... Ha! I have you now...

He can be so much fun.. Nan and I love our cat! 🙂 If you’d like to see some crazy pics of other cats, check out: My Cat Hates You. It’s pretty funny. (especially if you’ve ever had a neurotic cat…)

Hardware & more hardware…

As you’ve no doubt noticed, I’ve been on something of a hardware kick lately. (though realistically, when am I not?) The guys over at [H]ard|OCP have a rave review of the new ASUS SK8V motherboard. From the looks of it, this is the board to get if you’re building a new hot-rod gaming machine. This board supports the AthlonFX51 flavor of AMD’s high-powered 64-bit line of processors. Very nice indeed 🙂

New Pics
I finally got my new digital camera, and to break it in, I took some new shots of my machine to replace the low-res ones I took with the webcam. Check ’em out if you’re interested.
