Hardware & more hardware…

As you’ve no doubt noticed, I’ve been on something of a hardware kick lately. (though realistically, when am I not?) The guys over at [H]ard|OCP have a rave review of the new ASUS SK8V motherboard. From the looks of it, this is the board to get if you’re building a new hot-rod gaming machine. This board supports the AthlonFX51 flavor of AMD’s high-powered 64-bit line of processors. Very nice indeed 🙂

New Pics
I finally got my new digital camera, and to break it in, I took some new shots of my machine to replace the low-res ones I took with the webcam. Check ’em out if you’re interested.

Gotta love that blue glow Aerogate II AG2, Backlit.. Case from the side In the dark, from the side Modded MS Natural Keyboard Matching trackball

OMG, 2 updates in 1 week!

Hey, maybe this keeping my site up-to-date thing will last? Hey, stranger things have happened.

Case Pics
Well, I promised pics of my gaming machine, so here they are in all their crappy webcam quality.. Hey, I said I’d put up pics. I didn’t say they’d be good. 😉

(from left to right) This is it. I haven’t come up with a cool name for it yet, but on the network it goes by “Conrad.” (2) That’s the CoolerMaster Aerogate II fan controller/temp monitor unit on top. It’s cheap and does quite a good job. (I’ll probably be removing the faceplates to my drives for painting soon.) The last 2 pics show my little atari sticker and the popular TicTac mod. I put the sticker on there partly for decoration, and partly because it’s associated with my favorite game. (UT2003) The TicTac mod is something I came up with to hook-up the front-panel audio on my motherboard to the cheesy connectors that came with my case. 1 TicTac box, a ribbon cable from an old gameport connector, $5 in parts from Radio Shack and voila!
