Tri-Core PowerPC descendant to power XBox 360

According to this report, IBM designed the CPU for the XBox 360. I’m thinking if IBM could come up with a tri-core PPC variant able to be clocked over 3ghz in 2 years, surely they could apply that experience to the G5. Obviously some of that experience has already been applied to producing multiple-core G5s. I’m thinking Apple may have jumped ship too soon.

Microsoft’s “Get the Facts” more like fiction

Microsoft is running another one of their “Get the Facts” campaigns promoting Windows Server over Linux. It’s the same F.U.D. the company has attempted to spread in the past. In fact there is only one paper listed on the site that seems credible. (Yakee Group)

The report is based entirely on the results of a survey commissioned by the Yankee Group and reflects the overall experience of the IT managers surveyed. There is some important information in the report, but like so much else out there it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The other 2 papers listed were paid for by Microsoft. Unfortunately the analyst that wrote the one decent report has been attacked by linux advocates for some of her conclusions.
