An article in Time magazine explains how lobbyists are using political muscle to prolong the scam that is the synfuel industry. You’d think in an era where cutbacks are being made in all sorts of programs, stuff like this would be looked at a little more closely. Oh well..

Iranian President threatens withdrawal from NPT
CNN.com – Iran threat to revise nuke policy – Feb 11, 2006
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did a little saber-rattling today when he threatened to pull Iran out of the NPT if the west continued to press the nuclear issue. Just as disturbing was the statement that he believes the Nazi Holocaust to be a hoax invented by the “Zionists.” It should be clear to anyone who hasn’t been asleep for the past 10 years that Iran probably constitutes one of, if not THE largest threat to peace on our planet. Unfortunately I have the feeling that this isn’t going to end well. Hopefully I’ll be proved wrong.

While I applaud the improvement George W. Bush has made in his public speaking skills, he still doesn’t get it. The administration thinks a good strong speach will make everyone forget the lies and misdeeds of the past. I hope for our sake we aren’t that stupid.
