My Nomination For Slime Of The Year…

It seems like everywhere I turn, there’s some new story that gets my blood boiling. What’s with our country today? Have we really become this cold and callous? It’s bad enough the city of New London, CT is taking the homes of these people, but charging them back rent for the time they fought the process in court? That’s just not right.

Just when I thought I’d seen it all, I come across this. What happened to our public school system. It certainly wasn’t like this when I was growing up. Granted, computers in the schools were a new thing back then. Everybody was interested in what you could do with them, both students and teachers. We were expected to explore. Now, it seems things have changed. The students, parents and other concerned people involved have created a web forum to speak out against the injustice of the Kurtztown, PA schools and police. I can only hope that someone beats some sense into the authorities in this town.

Disturbing revelations

I was in shock when I read this story this evening. According to a report leaked to the British media, Jean Charles de Menezes had already been subdued when he was shot to death by British Police. According to the report, which was generated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, there was nothing suspicious about Menezes aside from the building he left. However, upon recieving “positive identification” from their superiors, the Police officers grabbed him and executed him on the spot. I keep telling myself that this couldn’t happen here, but you have to wonder.
