Have you ever used GMail, or Google Calendar? What if you could have not only a couple of applications accessible through a web browser, but a whole desktop interface? That’s exactly what YouOS is. While you won’t be running any applications from your home PC on YouOS, there are a number of familiar applications that have been written for this very special “operating system.” I gave YouOS a try this evening after having seen a colleague using it and I’m fairly impressed. It’s an alpha release, so don’t expect too much from it. However, this is certainly something I could see Google being interested in.

Find 815
Nan and I stayed up until almost 2a.m. last night playing the LOST alternate reality game “Find 815.” The game was a lot of fun, but because we got into it late, we had the advantage of being able to go through the content in a non-linear fashion. (though I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who hasn’t yet seen the site.) If you’re a fan of the LOST TV series, you should check out this site before it goes away. (which is supposedly in another 7 weeks or so) There are a lot of clues and bits of information that tie directly into the LOST series. Even if you ‘re not a fan, the puzzles and clue hunts are fun by themselves.
New LOST clues…
In case you didn’t stick around for the pilot of Eli Stone, after tonight’s episode of LOST, the main thing you missed was the URL for a new tie-in site. The faux commercial showed several women dressed as Oceanic flight attendants talking vaguely about their exotic destinations when someone appears to break into the transmission to tell you not to trust them while a text bar appears at the bottom of the page briefly showing the URL. Oh, and don’t expect to see anything on the site just yet, it’s getting swamped. Imagine that! 🙂
