It’s another weekend, and I’m back to playing with new software. I’m giving the new Vista beta (build 5308) a test drive and I’m installing Fedora Core 5 on my wifi test box. Already I can tell that the new vista is a much more polished product. I’m also interested to see how RedHat’s latest stable release shapes up. Stay tuned…

Gravitational equivalent of EM stronger than GR predicts
ESA – GSP – Towards a new test of general relativity?
Researchers in Australia have discovered the gravitational equivalent of electromagnetism, gravitomagnetism is stronger than it should be. Their experiment involved accellerating a spinning superconductor and placing small accelleration sensors near it. The result was the formation of a gravitomagnetic accelleration field outside the spinning superconductor. What’s really interesting is that this field is 100 million times larger than Einstein’s theory of General Relativity predicts! Why is this interesting, you ask? According to Einstein’s theory of General Relativity, the field strength should be negligible.
Manager mistakes default page for hacked site
Oklahoma city threatens to call FBI over ‘renegade’ Linux maker
As I read this article I had to check the date and make sure it wasn’t April 1st already. Aparently the city manager of Tuttle, OK went to visit the city website one day and to his surprise found the default setup page for CentOS instead. Even though the boilerplate page clearly says what it is, and why it might be there, the manager was convinced the city had been hacked by CentOS!! I won’t ruin the rest for you, but suffice to say it’s a miracle this guy still has a job.
