Microsoft’s “Get the Facts” more like fiction

Get the Facts Home

Microsoft is running another one of their “Get the Facts” campaigns promoting Windows Server over Linux. It’s the same F.U.D. the company has attempted to spread in the past. In fact there is only one paper listed on the site that seems credible. (Yakee Group)

The report is based entirely on the results of a survey commissioned by the Yankee Group and reflects the overall experience of the IT managers surveyed. There is some important information in the report, but like so much else out there it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The other 2 papers listed were paid for by Microsoft. Unfortunately the analyst that wrote the one decent report has been attacked by linux advocates for some of her conclusions.

10 years later, it’s interesting to see what feelings the O.J. case brings to the surface. As this very well done piece points out, it’s not as simple as black and white. The complex issues surrounding the case and the complexities behind people’s reactions to the case are interesting as well as informative. Check it out, you may be surprised by what you learn.
